4th of July

This year for a change we enjoyed the holiday weekend here in the city rather then our cabin. We took in a fun pool party at my friend Tina's house which was a bit hectic being a single parent and 2.5 kids. Dillon really enjoyed the pool but could barely reach his head above water and Collin was fearless jumping into the pool whenever and wherever he wanted. Needless to say there were no pictures taken at that event!

Saturday night we walked down to Tenney Park with my sister and her family to enjoy Rhythm and Booms. We sat on the beach with our radio and about 100 other people rather then the 250,000 at Warner Park.
A picture with the cousins while waiting for the fireworks to start.
A quick family photo op!
On the 4th we took part in a neighborhood parade (first time in 13 years of being in the neighborhood).
We decorated the bikes and followed a fire truck and float around the block.

This is Dillon trying to dunk our Alderman in the Dunk tank.
Ice cream at 10am - I guess it's a holiday.

Sunday night we walked down to Tenney Park again and watched three different fireworks shows from the pier. The Capitol lit up the Lake Mendota shoreline as the fireworks exploded in the background.
